This summer we had the exciting opportunity to join forces with our new friends Matthew & Melissa Schur of "A Toast to You" which encompasses the Old Fashioned Mobile Bar and the Old Red Barn. We met Matthew & Melissa while we were catering a few farm weddings that they were bartending at with their insanely adorable, uniquely and beautifully crafted bar trailer in the summer of 2017. We enjoyed working with each other so much we decided we should partner for a few long table dinners at their family farm in Leduc.
The first was on July 17th and it was a Southern BBQ theme. In true southern style, it was a sweltering hot day. Usually the long table dinners at the Old Red Barn take place in the upper loft, but it was simply too hot that day. Matthew & Melissa made a quick executive decision to host the dinner in the main level of the barn, and it was such a lovely intimate atmosphere.
It was a great crowd, and the venue was the perfect spot for this sunny summer's eve! The highlights were the Fried Green Tomatoes, the Grilled Cornbread with honey butter and the Grilled Halloumi & Watermelon Salad with mint & balsamic reduction. Matthew's welcome blackberry lemonade was the perfectly paired refreshment!
We had such a great evening and look forward to working with Matthew & Melissa again soon.
